Serving Up A Life Slice

Teddy music: Fuel - Innocent (Piano Acoustic)

Imagine staying awake for 20.5 hours straight.

That's what I did. Went to sleep at 8.30am and woke up at 2pm today.

I hope that this will somehow kick my sleeping cycle back to sleeping 1-2am and waking up 9-10am. It's not good at the way it's going now.

Still, it was pretty lovely to be awake and witness my first sunrise at Canberra on ressies. I had my first sunrise of Australia when I flew over in February.

I saw two kookaburras this morning from Kel's window. One of them was laughing away and it was soooo adorable the way its whole body was shaking as it laughed. =) Kel's reaction to my gleeful discovery of the laughing kookaburra? "I'd take a shoe and throw it at it. Making noise only." Haih. Damn, missed an opportunity to capture a kookaburra in action. My camera was down in my room at that time.

Anyway, here's some shots I took when I got off my arse and went back up to Kel's room with my camera.

Morning Canberra
It was so peacefully tranquil. So calm, that the kangaroos felt like play fighting/boxing (you can see it in the lower right picture =)

Teddy music: Snow Patrol - Whatever's Left

So this entry's for Esther, in a way. Haha.

Am I really kicking it up here in Australia? Erm...I wouldn't know but I'd say that I've been more exposed here than back home. It's interesting to say the least. =) Definitely something that opens up your perception and challenges you to evaluate yourself as a Christian. However, I'll be the first to say that I'm no perfect Christian. I'm not a super good Christian but with God's grace, I'm making it. =)

Teddy music: Gavin DeGraw - I Don't Want To Be

Hmmm...this song makes me miss watching One Tree Hill. Damn. =(

Anyway, back to the "story".

I do hope I can leave some kind of impact (a good impact! ;P) on those around me. I think I'm sort of finding my footing here...but then again, I'm not too sure yet.

It's interesting getting to know people here. Especially when you get to know all kinds of people from different cultures/nationalities/lifestyles.

Teddy music: Mandy Moore & Jonathan Foreman - Someday We'll Know

It's funny how I seem to end up hanging out with non-Malaysians more. Take for instance, I probably would usually end up walking to the mall with my Singaporean mates (Kel/Anthony/Meryl) or Miki (Japanese). I have fellowship with mainly Aussies from FOCUS (Fellowship of Christian Uni Students). I do go out with my collegemates but in general, I seem to spend more time with non-Malaysians. After all, I'm here to experience the diversity of people you can meet here. Of course, it's always nice to be able to converse in Manglish/Singlish when you have the chance. =)

Here's a pic from last night when Meryl & I went to Deepa's place for a wonderfully yummy dinner of Thai chicken curry with a scrumptious dessert!

Girls' Night
Absolutely smashing dinner! And, this is why a girls' night is always heaps better than boys' night...ehehe

Now that it's autumn season, the scenery is changing to that beautiful rustic gold-red that I love so much.

Teddy music: Ash - Starcrossed

My camera is usually taken with me wherever I go just in case the perfect photo opportunity comes along.

The following pictures were taken along the way to the mall yesterday when I went with Anthony and Meryl. Anthony is slowly starting to warm up more and showing a little sarcasm. He said that he's only getting started. Oooo...haha

Teddy music: Great Balls Of Fire

He made a little dig when I was taking a picture of the swans by making the remark of "KL don't have these meh?" So mean...haha.

Anyway, feast your eyes on the beautiful autumn scenery. =)

Autumn Scene
Gorgeous, isn't it?
