Different View From Up

Teddy music: You Are My Hiding Place

Getting a different perspective

This is one of the new praise/worship songs at church that has just totally captured me.

I find You in the secret place
I find You on the mountain
I find You in the early hours
Of my day

I find You when I'm waiting
I find You when I'm in Your Word
I find You when I'm talking to You
When I pray

Create in me a clean heart
As I come away with You
Wash away all of my stains
And restore to me the joy I have in You

You are my hiding, my hiding place (x2)

It's a really meaningful song with a wonderfully catchy melody behind it.

I was reading this book about becoming a people after God's heart and pastor shared about this topic on Sunday. One part of the book was talking about how in order to become strong in God, we need to become weak first. To be weak, we sacrifice. With God, it's an inverse relationship with the world and God. If we want more "world time", we need to spend more time with God.

Like the book said, "When you invest your time and energy in prayer, you are forfeiting hours and energy you could be using to build a ministry/business/lifestyle in some other way. Fasting too is about weakness. You are giving away your physical strength. Giving your money is embracing weakness by giving away your time and energy. Persecution is is the same thing. Instead of getting your own vengeance, you silently bear under it, rejoicing in the Lord."

In the end, all that sacrifice is worth it. God gives us strength when fasting, He enables us to do things within a timeframe that we thought was impossible and He always always gives us enough to meet our needs without spoiling us. Isn't that a magnificent God?

When we are weak, He's there to be our strength.

Just like how I need Him now. Some days it's up and easy, some days it's being stuck in the middle and some days, it's just down in the dumps. Today's one of those "middle" days. The PlayStation presentation went pretty alright. But it was something else that made me feel a bit sad later. Nonetheless, I believe God's going to see me through this.

What was that, Baby Wombat? Pleased to meet you too. =)

On a lighter note, I managed to "steal" Baby Wombat from Kel today. Muahaha...but he'll have to be returned later. Heh. The one on the right's mine. ;P
