Marketing Management Notes
Winamp is blaring: Phil Collins & N*Sync - Trashin' The Camp
Sigh...couldn't believe my forgetfulness of today. After all 'Drama Minggu Ini' that happened over the weekend, I'd completely forgotten that I had my Advertising & Broadcasting group meeting at 10.30am! I'd woken up at about 10am. Leisurely made myself an early lunch and was watching 'Little Rascals' on Astro when suddenly, I heard the 'Rum Tum Tugger' ringtone. Funny, I thought. Who'd be calling me so early before class starts? Imagine my shock and embarrassment when my group member asked me why I wasn't at college! Waahh!!! So, quickly shoved down lunch and informed my mom I needed to be at college within the next half hour.
Winamp is now blaring: Linkin Park - Easier To Run
All in all, today was pretty smooth. Watched 'Good Morning, Vietnam' starring Robin Williams (a young version of him) for class today. We were supposed to pick up pointers on how attitude can be used to draw in listeners for radio. In short, attitude sells. Right...so now need to inject some attitude into my group's assignment. Assignment: create a radio/TV documentary. Free topic BUT must be charity based. My group's decided to do about the after-effects women go through after breast cancer surgery.
Winamp is now blaring: S.H.E. - Re Dai Yu Ling
Right now, I'm typing in my Marketing Management notes besides typing in this entry. Sigh. Been lagging in transferring notes from messily handwritten notes to computer printed notes. Luckily this semester, only need to study for Marketing Management. Computer Graphics & Advertising and Broadcasting are assignment based. Hehe.
A cappella practice tomorrow night has been cancelled again due to unforeseen circumstances surrounding a group member's family. Her aunt just passed away. My condolences to her. =(

Drama Life
Winamp is blaring: Linkin Park - Faint
That's exactly what I want to do right now. Pass out cold and stay like that forever.
Aduh...today was supposed to be a good day! But a majorly horrible thing happened.
I went and stupidly reversed the Waja into my neighbour's car opposite my house's gate. Please don't ask me why it happened or how come it's possible for me to actually hit a stationary car. I've enough guilt on my conscience as it is. The Waja suffered only minor scratches on the bumper and a small scratch on the right backlight. On the other hand, my neighbour's Putra ended up with a huge dent on the back part just after the door. Geez. Damage queen of the day, I am.
Of course I was extremely shaken and wanted to deal with the situation right then and there. But, when I rang the doorbell, no one answered (eventhough the bloody car alarm was going off). Only the neighbour's golden retriever (who's such a sweet looking dog) came up to me at the gate and snuffled at my hand. I, being in such a state of shock, couldn't appreciate the dog at that moment. So, after waiting a few futile minutes, I decided to leave a note on the windscreen as I was already late for church.
Also, I immediately informed my dad about my mishap with the car. My dad was so supportive. I'm glad that he didn't blow up in anger about it eventhough it was admittedly MY fault.
Winamp is now blaring: Evanescence - Everybody's Fool
I'm not just everybody's fool...I'm THE fool of the world.
Sigh...I really didn't want to go for church service at that point. All I wanted to do was to curl up and cry and later, go die. Serious. I couldn't believe my own stupidity. Geez. If I was my own twin, I would've gone and smacked my head...HARD!!
Well, dragged my ass to church in the end since my dad asked me to attend anyway. He told my mom about my accident but she didn't really show any reaction since it was in church. But I did get the blasting at home later before I left to attend a play.
Winamp is now blaring: Evanescence - I Believe In You
By the time I reached home after church, it was 1.20pm. My dad and bro weren't home yet so my mom was busy getting lunch ready while giving me a good sounding. I supposed I deserved it so I didn't say anything except sit on the sofa as far away as possible and just tahan. By the time it was 1.35pm, it was time for me to go as I had to pick up 2 of my seniors to attend a play. Only then, I could relax a bit as I jolly well couldn't show an upset face to them, right?
Winamp is now blaring: X-ecutioners feat. Mike Shinoda & Joe Hahn - It's Going Down
Oh yeah. I was going down alright. Eventhough in the end, my dad said that the lady seemed alright with the mishap (of course, we have to pay so yknow, case settled), I still felt bad. And, I'm walking on eggshells around my mom 'cuz I'm damn scared that she'll let loose with another round of scoldings. I know, I know. I totally deserve it but man, it always stings. C'est la vié.
I'm paying RM200 as that's about all I can dig up from my savings. That also means, with a loss of RM200, I can't go for Jay Chou's concert. Originally, my friends had booked the RM220 tickets but now, looks like it's bye-bye to Jay Chou. In any case, I'm not really upset over that as I'm not a Jay Chou die-hard fan (unlike my friend *wink, wink*). Oh well, look at it as a way of learning to deal with the lashback of your actions. Hmm.
Winamp is now blaring: Tony Leung & Andy Lau - Infernal Affairs
The most ironic part of the day has to be the sermon preached by the pastor today. He was talking about guarding one's conscience and heart, as well as how guilt can be positive by bringing one closer to God. It was like heaping coals of fire on my head. Darn it, I'm already upset enough by then and then I have to sit through a sermon going on about one's conscience. Talk about God sending His messages through clearly!
Enough about that stupid accident.
Went to attend 'A Goldfish Tale' at The Actor's Studio Theatre at Plaza Putra, Dataran Merdeka. Was nearly late as when we'd already reached Dataran Merdeka, I made a wrong turning and you know la, Kota Raya's area consists of one-way roads with no left-turns/right-turns. Argh! Luckily we made our way over with just 5 minutes to spare!
Actually, the main reason why we (consisting of Jase, myself, Erin, Wei Yenn & Anrie) went to see the show was because Fang was acting in it (FYI: Fang's part of LiT, the Rain Makers 'sifu' in a cappella singing. Sort of.). Kinda like giving moral support. =) Won't comment too much on the play since I'm not really an experienced thespian. But I'll say it was interesting. Hehe. Considering also, it's a first for the 5 of us to see Fang wear a dress! Alright, alright, it was only like 1 minute but still...*grin* Fang's dressing is more like a guy's dressing, so there you go.
Winamp is now blaring: Linkin Park - One Step Closer
So after the show, we hung around for a bit just to say hi to Fang and congratulate/hug her on her acting. She said she suspected it was us 'cuz the scene where she's wearing a dress, she said she heard some snickering from the audience. Ooops, perhaps we were a little too loud? *Innocent look* But we did give ourselves away at the end when the audience was applauding. We were applauding while standing up when the play was over and the rows in front of us weren't standing up so I guess she could see us when the lights came on. Oh yea, we cheered really loudly when she took her bow so duh, she could tell it's us. Fang was so cute 'cuz she looked a bit shy when we cheered for her. Haha. Tak tahu malu pulak we all.
Winamp is now blaring: Godsmack - I Stand Alone
Aih...it's been a weird day. Imagine the kind of story my life would make if it was a drama! Just the day before, it was absolute bliss over Linkin Park. Over 24 hours, my happiness went and flipped 180°.
Nevermind, I've paid my dues for my carelessness today. I'm at peace but still emotionally stirred up. Anyway, pastor did say that if you've sorted out your guilt properly and dealt with it the correct Godly way, God will bring peace to your heart.
This just in: my dad told me that my mom wasn't mad at me anymore. Just that as a concerned parent, she had to release some of the anger/shock. Oh well. I could be doing this to my kid next time. =|
Oh, check out this link: http://home.attbi.com/~lynchknot/xtra.html
Oh yeah...forgot this little something extra to add in. =) On the way home after the play, I was blasting away 'Blue- One Love' in the car. My senior (ehem...you know who you are leh :P) was singing along and when it came to the part of "One love...", she sang, "All rise...". For a moment, I was stoned. I went, "Huh?" My first thoughts were about the Chinese version of 'All Rise' but then it hit me that this was 'One Love' NOT 'All Rise'. Once it dawned on us that it was the wrong song, we both started laughing hysterically and causing the other senior in the car to wonder if we'd lost both our minds! =)

Tony Leung
Winamp is blaring: Shaggy - Strength Of A Woman
Sigh...just finished watching 'Tokyo Raiders'. Only watched 'cuz Jase called me and told me that Tony Leung was in it. Tony Leung. *Swoon* I know it's rather silly but he's so devastatingly handsome. He may be 40 plus but he still looks so boyish! Aaahh...Tony!
Winamp is now blaring: Sugababes - Stronger
I could look at him all day. Gosh, if only I had the chance to meet him face to face! I think it's only recently that I got hooked on him. *Swoon* There I go again. Honestly, how can anyone NOT fall for him? Plus, he's such a great actor. When he's acting silly, he's so adorable.
Because of him, I went to watch 'Infernal Affairs' and 'My Lucky Star'. In fact, I'm aiming to watch all the movies he's acted in. Seen 'Healing Hearts' on TV3. Am actually contemplating to buy the VCDs for the movies mentioned in this blog entry. But...wondering if got enough money. Sigh...how can monetary issues stand in the way of Tony Leung?

Linkin Park Rocks!!
Winamp is blaring: Kelly Rowland - Stole
What a day it's been! Went for the Linkin Park exclusive premiere of MTV's 2$ Bill Concert. It was superb! I really don't know how else to put it. =)
According to the email, I was supposed to arrive at the venue (Emporium Café) by 2.30pm and could only bring along another friend (I ended up taking my bro who'd just arrived from Singapore on Thursday for a treat - actually, when we got there, I saw that other people had brought along 3-4 friends so I was sad that I couldn't have asked a few of my friends to come. Oh well. Sorry, guys!). My dad had planned to drop my bro and me off at a Putra LRT station and get us to walk there from KLCC. In the end, since we were running out of time, he had to drive all the way there. My dad's the sweetest person around! We reached there about 2.20pm and already there was a long line of people waiting! Talk about the enthusiasm of Linkin Park fans...or it could be just plain kiasuism of wanting to be first in. In any case, it turned out to be a blessing we arrived a bit early otherwise we wouldn't have found great seating inside Emporium. Oh yea, at one point, Gloria Jean's that was next to Emporium started to play one of Linkin Park's songs (forgot which one). So appropriate! Well, while waiting to get in, it started to rain so the organising staff had to push everyone under the awning to avoid people getting wet. As we were waiting for the time to pass, my bro and I took some pics of us holding the entry passcards and posing. Will upload later when I've got time. =) Also, we were eyeing the Linkin Park T-shirts the staff was wearing. Kinda hoping that the makeshift stall that was selling Linkin Park's Hybrid Theory & Meteora albums would've sold the T-shirts but found out they didn't. So sad.
Winamp is now blaring: 12 Stones - Broken
By the time they actually got people moving into Emporium, it was about 3.05pm. Man, the crowd was pushy. Just like trying to get on a bus at Majestik at peak hour! Plus, it was still raining so people were trying to avoid being pushed into the rain. In any case, my bro and I were lucky to be one of the first 200 people 'cuz they were giving out only 200 door gifts. The door gifts: a Linkin Park Meteora poster & sticker.
Next thing to do was to find good seating. The dance floor was pretty much filled up but luckily found a place about 2 feet from the stage/screen/speakers. The volume was near the max, I believe, therefore got really good blasting in the ears but it was all good! The stage steps had posters in the front and spray cans & masks (like the ones that people used during the haze period a few years ago) with the Linkin Park sticker on it. The decor was not bad. Suited the theme. Giant posters were hung on the walls around. Imagine the excitement I was feeling at that point! =) Took more pics of my bro and me with the Linkin Park logo on-screen. But that was the last pics we took since they didn't allow cameras during the screening. Too bad.
Winamp is now blaring: Evanescence - Whisper
The whole thing started about 3.30pm. The MCs were JJ and Rudy. I think they're the DJs from red104.9fm. Those guys were damn funny. Really got the crowd going. Started off with a competition of who could sing/scream best like Chester. They picked 2 guys and 2 girls. Originally, they were supposed to perform without music but since one guy asked for music, they played 'In The End' and all four ended up singing along to Mike's part and NOT Chester's. In any case, one of the guys won. All got to have the T-shirt (*green with envy at this point!*), a giant poster & Linkin Park CD.
Winamp is now blaring: Avril Lavigne - Losing Grip
Finally, the show started. Fuh, it was damn cun!! But got neck stiffness since was watching the show at an angle. Haha. My bro and I were so taken in that we decided right then and there to buy Meteora. We decided to split the cost in half and that he'd bring the original copy to Singapore whereas I burn a copy for myself as well as keep the giant poster. =) *rubbing little paws together* (Update: My dad said that my bro and I didn't need to pay back the RM40 for the album...he said to consider it a gift since he was in a generous mood. Isn't he a darling? =) ) The crowd in Emporium also sang along when Linkin Park played songs from Hybrid Theory. Man, it was like being transported from KL to Detroit! Now, I'm dying to go watch a live concert of them!! *Hint, hint, wink, wink* Haha!
Winamp is now blaring: Pink - Family Portrait
Linkin Park played songs from Meteora and faves from Hybrid Theory. Oh man, oh man, they were so good!! The show ended all too soon about 4.45pm. After that, JJ and Rudy announced another competition for who could sing like Linkin Park the best. The winner would win an autographed skateboard! This time, they got 8 contestants, 5 guys and 3 girls (I think). Ended up a guy called Azmi Azmi Azmi by the MCs (cuz when asked about his name, I think he repeated it several times) won the skateboard. But gotta hand it to him, he did the best impersonation of Linkin Park's In The End. The other finalist was this little girl of not more than 10 years of age. I think she was really brave to go up on stage considering the fact that all the others were at least twice her age!
Winamp is now blaring: Matchbox Twenty - Feel
After that, they had a lucky draw where they gave out T-shirts, crew passes, MTV goodie bags, posters and CDs. Unfortunately, was not lucky enough to win any of those. But still, I'm happy enough that I got to even attend this premiere! I think I'll print this blog entry out and stick it into my private journal. =)
Winamp is now blaring: Jay Chou - Zui Hou De Zan Yi
The minute the MCs announced that the show was over, the people rushed *fwomp* to the stage to grab the spray cans. Luckily I could swipe one before they were all gone. Grabbed the mask too. Haha. My bro was eyeing the giant posters on the wall but unfortunately couldn't get one 'cuz the staff were still there and wouldn't allow people to take it. Anyways, got the spray can, mask, posters, stickers and passcards for mementos! My bro seemed quite happy that I took him for this event. It's a good thing too that he could come back for the week since Singapore closed all schools till April 6 due to the killer flu virus. I'm happy he's back too. =)
Winamp is now blaring: Mandy Moore - Cry
After the show, my bro and I walked over to Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf to grab 2 Mocha Ice Blended since he had a craving for coffee. Spilt a bit of mocha on my shirt. Aisay, like small kid only. Sigh. Then I remembered I'd wanted to take a pic with the Linkin Park poster so we walked back there. Upon reaching, we saw that they'd packed everything away. =( So ended up walking back to Coffee Bean and opened up the Meteora album. My bro's listening to the CD right now on his laptop. =)
Winamp is now blaring: Blue - Privacy
Okie, okie. I know some of you are wondering why the heck is that at almost every paragraph you're reading 'Winamp is blaring bla bla bla'. It just so happens that it takes me the same time to type my blog entry and answer ICQ messages as the length of the song.
Hmm, gonna go and stick my Linkin Park memorabilia into my photo/scrapbook. But the spray can? Hmm...still thinking what to do with it. It's still full with paint too. I wonder... *evil grin*
Winamp is now blaring: Whitney Houston - Heartbreak Hotel
Yummy, after the Linkin Park show, my family went to eat bak kut teh at some place in Pandan Jaya. Mmmm.
Yeah! LINKIN PARK RULES! Hahaha....

Superimposing
Winamp is blaring: Blue - Girl I'll Never Understand
Well, was up til nearly 4am yesterday doing a superimposed pic for Computer Graphics assignment. Superimposed a dead rabbit (which looks like a sheep to some), a border collie and a "Dogs In Yard" warning sign onto a pic I (luckily!) took of my bro's hostel in Singapore. He may wanna whack me for it but no biggie. =)
Just arrived home from a cappella practice. Funnily enough, it did rain a bit when I was on the way to practice after picking up my senior from her place. It's odd really how our practices never seem to consist of 'real' practice for a solid 2 hours at least since we always end up chit-chatting or laughing for a good half hour after going through one round of the song sequence. So, in reality, we only really practice for about 1 hour to 1 1/2 hours. Hehe. And, we've just only realised that there's a month left til our upcoming performance. Yikes!
Winamp is now blaring: Lee Wei - Yi Ge Ren
Blergh...that singing's made my throat a bit dry. You try going "tum chik, tum tum chik" at 120 bpm (beats per minute) and see how much spit you collect in your mouth, how short of breath you become and all while trying not to lose the beat as well as not spraying spit everywhere.
Winamp is now blaring: Shakira - Underneath Your Clothes
Yummy, my mom made a Norwegian yeast cake that's called um...Princess Cake. She said it's because the cake consists of several rolls that looks like crowns. Whatever la but man, it was good although a bit heavy on the sweet side. The crispy parts were the nicest (and also the sweetest!). Took one part of the cake to practice for the girls to have a taste.
Something's wrong with my POP3 email account. Some problem with connecting with the server. Argh!
Winamp is now blaring: Robbie Williams - Angel
Just finished going through National Geographic's Salem Witch Hunt website. *Shiver* Terrifying when you think about the innocent people hanged all because of false accusations. Thank God those times are over.

Mustard sauce everywhere!
Winamp is blaring: Faith Hill - Breathe
What a day! WHAT A DAY! I'm so psyched at this point. Why? 'Cuz I just found out that I get to attend some MTV Asia event (the $2 Bill Linkin' Park Concert). Woohoo! It's gonna be held at Emporium Cafe this Saturday. It's in the afternoon but still...MTV Asia man!! Wahahaa..
Alright, about today's events (with the culminating point of the MTV Asia win..yeah!). A lot of things that I'd planned the previous day DIDN'T turn out the way it should've today. But on hindsight, I think it turned out for the better. =)
Event #1 that went wrong:
This morning I woke up to my handphone alarm ringing crazily at 7.05 am, I was dressed and ready to go to college for a group discussion. 7.30 am, I grabbed my stuff and headed to get into the car. But...when I reached the livingroom windows, I noticed the Unser still parked in the driveway. "Huh? Where's the Waja?" I thought. Then, it hit me that my dad must've forgotten that I was supposed to take the car today. So, dialed dear ol' daddy up and sorted out the mess.
Event #2 that went wrong:
My images for my Computer Graphics Photoshop superimposing assignment were not suitable and therefore couldn't create a satisfactory superimposed pic. Mr. Low said he'd be expecting 2 (!) superimposed pics from me at the next lesson. *Groan* Nevermind, gives me a chance to do good superimposed pics!
Event #3 that went wrong:
The a cappella practise that was planned for tonight at 9pm got cancelled due to a member's family appointment and it got shifted to the following night instead. Btw, for those that are blur, I'm part of an a cappella group called The Rain Makers that comprises of 6 gals. IACT people all the way! Haha...free advertising for IACT here...should get paid! =) The good thing is, since I'd planned to have dinner with several seniors and a classmate (who's high school junior also joined), it gave me more time to sit back and relax during dinner without having to worry about time. =)
Winamp is now blaring: All Saints - I Know Where It's At
Today to fill in time between 4-6pm while waiting for the seniors to finish their classes/exams, Sim Miao and I went to 1 Utama to watch a movie. Since 'Hot Chick' wasn't out yet, we settled for 'Trapped'. It was an okay movie. Nothing really great about but good enough to while away the time. FYI, it was friggin' cold in the cinema since only a handful of people were there. Also, I managed to get mustard sauce on my shirt, overshirt, watch strap and bag since I was tucking into an Oliver's cornbeef & tomato toastie I'd bought earlier since I was starving from not having eaten earlier. Had only survived on a bowl of cornflakes & milk from that morning's breakfast having had to wait for my mum to get up and prepare herself to drop me off at college by 9am. Note to self, next time, either use a bib (*wink wink* at Paul..hehe) or just plain starve until next feeding time! Had to spend 30 mins scrubbing the stains off before it becomes an ugly yellow patch on clothes/bag/strap.
Well, to tell the truth, I've only been home for the past hour or so. Came back about 9pm after dinner out. Went with 3 seniors (Thomas, Addy & Seng), a classmate (Sim Miao) and Sim Miao's junior from high school (Cynthia). Went to Taman Megah's Ming Tien. One rowdy bunch with the guys laughing their heads off. Started off with everyone teasing Seng by taking his money and passing it to Sim Miao who promptly said she'd 'belanja' everyone. Then later I got called a freak by Seng since caffeine makes me sleepy and beer makes me hyper. Whatever. Then, as usual lar, dirty talk was involved. =)
Winamp is now blaring: Blue - Right Here Waiting
Man, it finally rained a proper storm albeit a short one. Coming back after dropping Sim Miao & Cynthia, Addy and Seng (in that order), it was pouring cats and dogs. I had to go at 50-70 kph which is about 20-30kph below my normal speed on the LDP. The raindrops where so heavy that in the light, it kinda looks like the scene in 'Hero' where Jet Li is facing millions of arrows shot at him. Seriously heavy rain.
Alright, I think you'd be pretty tired by the time you finish this. I'll try not to inflict such a long one again. Hehe. =)

Winamp is blaring: Aaliyah - Try Again
Blergh. It's super boring. Plus, it simply refuses to rain properly. Like the clouds are being stingy and would only spit a few drops here and there.
Apparently, a few people deigned to comment on my blog. Honestly, I'm happy that people are actually commenting but for all you know, it just might be like Pepsi Blue. Great reception at first but slowly trickles off.
Speaking of Pepsi Blue, what other colourings has not been used in drinks? Seems like the entire rainbow of colours has been used. Surprise me, o Gods of Consumer Drinks!

Winamp is blaring: Matchbox Twenty - Could I Be You
Finally my blog is up and customised as much as I can within a few short hours. =) Thanks alot Paul for the help!
Fuh, for a minute I thought I'd just destroyed something on my computer by accident when I heard a weird squeak (or was it a beep?). Couldn't type anything for nuts. THEN...I saw something in my taskbar. Turns out I'd turned on the filterkey by accidentally pressing down the SHIFT for 8 secs or so. Dumb me.
Anyway, had another uneventful day of going to college and coming home. Tucked myself into a good book (The Nanny Diaries) with a hot cup o' Lipton tea on the side. I know some may think that it's nuts to be drinking hot tea on a hot day but it's BLISS when it comes to reading books! A habit long continued from young. It could only be better if the weather hadn't been so bloody hot. Nevermind, hopefully this weather will pass soon enough.
Winamp is now blaring: Matchbox Twenty - Downfall
Aih, think I've written about as much as I can think to write for now. Besides, tomorrow's another full day of jottings. Plenty o' things to be done. I think from the way my schedule is for tomorrow, I probably won't be seen by parents the whole day except when my mom catches a brief glimpse of me before I go off to college at 7.30am then when I come home later that night around midnight (if they're still up although I highly doubt it).
Btw, check out the phenomenal postings about Maggi here. It's at 118!!
