It Is Finished

Don't feel like playing any teddy music today.

Well, I've finally finished the LOTR trilogy. ROTK was superbly fantastic. Well done, Peter Jackson & LOTR cast & crew.

So that means, I've finished off three trilogies this year. Heh, that's funny - 3 3s... o.O

In chronological order:
1. The Matrix trilogy
2. Infernal Affairs trilogy <-- Tony Leung Chiu-Wai is so HOT
3. Lord of the Ring trilogy

I wonder what's the next trilogy to be made. Hmmm.

Watched "Sound of Colours" too. It's not very fantastic but it's watchable to me cuz of, yes, again...Tony Leung Chiu-Wai. He's so adorable in every scene that I just wanna kiss him!! Hehe...*you may gag here...and here's a sick bag for you* :P

Anyways, looking back on 2003. It's been a funny year. Has its ups and downs just like every year. Can't say if the ups have been more than downs. Feels like there's been more downs than ups. Geesh, one New Year's resolution: be MORE positive.

I learned a lot of things this year and I hope it'll be put to good use next year 2004.

Oh well, here's to 2004! *toasts champagne/fizzy drinks*

A HAPPY & BLESSED NEW YEAR TO ALL!

Friend For A Soundingboard

Teddy music: All I Want For Christmas

Sometimes, I'm glad I've got a friend that I can call anytime just to rant. I wanna say thanks to Elaine for putting up with my ranting for the past 2 hours. Heeh.

Thanks, babe. It's so much more cheaper than seeing a shrink.

What The...??

Teddy music: Silent Night

Haih...I don't know if the problem's with me or...*sighs*

It amazes me at times how weirdly I can behave in different circumstances. Why am I so complicated? Geesh.

With one bunch of friends, I can chat away like a chatterbox. With another group, I somehow don't feel very compelled to share very much. Why is that so? I mean, I like my different groups of friends pretty much the same - so how come I act differently around them? Like my dad said to me once, "You argue so badly with yourself that you make yourself confused."

Hmm...

I hate myself for not being able to act at least in a similar behaviour. I'm the kind of person that would like to be a true person, through and through. I like my life to be in black-and-white, to be very precise and clear-cut. No fuzzy edges for me, thank you! This is probably due to my natural characteristics as firstborn. Although, not ALL firstborn are like that, k? =)

Take for instance, with my old highschool friends, I can go totally ballistic and crazy and it wouldn't matter one cent to me (or them, I think). When around my collegemates, I can't seem to act half as mad. It's like I get these funny looks 'cuz maybe that kind of behaviour is out of the norm (for my behaviour at college). Maybe it's just me and my imagination. Can someone please point it out to me?

The Christmas Aftermath

Teddy music: West End - I Feel Pretty

Sighs...

Feelin' too lazy to get around to really unpacking my stuff since returning from Nepal. Geesh...

My room now looks like a big mess - sheets of scribbled paper, books, clothes, luggage and other miscellaneous stuff are lying everywhere in my room. It looks like a warzone in here.

Yeap...so Nepal was a pretty interesting place. I mean, besides all the temples/stupas and stuff. If I were to describe Nepal as a woman, it would be that Nepal is an ice queen - beautiful but hard. Life is hard there. Especially since the Maoist attacks began. When travelling along the roads (which are like travelling on construction roads in Malaysia), every so often, you'll see a military bunker with army personnel in it or bypass some soldiers with their guns slung nonchalantly over their shoulders. REAL guns - AK-17s, M-16s, rifles...you name it.

The land is very beautiful...especially at the mountain areas. By the way, in Nepal, mountains are only those that have snow on the top. No snow means it's just a hill, JUST a hill...and the smaller "hills" are considered as hillocks. That means, to the Nepali, Gunung Tahan here ain't a "gunung" - it's a puny hill to them. Geesh.

Anyways, I'll load up the pix at a later date...kinda lazy and there's a LOT of pictures. I think it's 200+ from my digicam alone - that's not even counting the several rolls of film my dad used on his camera!

Nepal was cold and very dry. My skin was starting to peel on my cheeks and around my lips. It's so cold in the morning and at night that you can see your breath in the air like puffs of steam. o.O When it's daytime, it's pretty cool, like being in aircon at 18-19 Celsius degrees.

The tourgroup travelled around in a big white bus that kinda made me think of a mini bus (remember those pink ones that used to run all over KL?) and a Metrobus rolled into one. It was a real bone shaker when travelling on rocky roads especially along the mountain roads. Heh.

Hmm...what else is there? Ooo...I like masala tea. Yummmm.

Hemmm...dunno what else to write leh. If I remember more, I'll write again. =P

Hehe...

By the way, I STILL HAVEN'T WATCHED LOTR: RETURN OF THE KING YET!!!

Waahhh.... =(

One More Time...

Teddy music: United Live - All

Aaaahhh...one more time, just one more time! Aaaaaaahhhhhh...*rising volume*

Okie, whatever you thought that was (I dunno, you tell me!), it was actually me screaming my brains out...

...over exam papers.

Geesh, just one more paper to go (Sales Promotion) on Thursday and I'll be free...at least until 9 February 2004. Heeh...finally, a holiday that's beyond 2 weeks...aaa..

Can you believe it? I got so stressed last night trying to study for my Marketing Research paper that my mind just went stupid on me. It felt like my brain was nothing but cotton wool...one of my rare "stupid" moments when I can really understand how dumb people can be at times (no offence to anyone reading this, k? So don't go sending me hate-mail or anything, a'ite?)

So anyway, after my final paper on Thursday, it's a taxi ride to KLIA and catching a flight to my first family holiday abroad in a loooong time...we're off to Nepal! It's gonna be something...I hope it's fun and not boring!

By right, I should be going to study my Sales Promotion (which I will after I'm done blogging) so yea...just taking a breather.

Teddy music: United Live - To The Ends Of The Earth

One thing I've noticed about myself during exams is that I friggin' don't care how I look when I go to college...I'll just throw on jeans and wear a "respectable" shirt (generally it's the same one I changed into after my morning shower) plus a comfy hoodie (it's cold when the A/C's blasting away in your direction). I look and feel bummish...which is nice, like I'm at home. I mean, why dress up when you're going to sit for an exam? Geez, who's going to look at you? Everyone's (well, it should be everyone) gonna be looking at their paper and not at what someone's wearing that day...correct me if I'm wrong.

Oh well...c'est la vie. Or should I say...uh...I dunno. Nevermind.

In any case, I've sent/given out half of my Christmas cards this year. Now it's left just my collegemates to give cards to. I sure hope that the ones I posted will reach the people...I even put 40¢ stamps just to make sure they'll reach the people. I don't want to see it return to me!! Sometimes it's so hard to pick Christmas cards, they're so pretty but the REALLY nice ones always (as usual) cost $$. Which, unfortunately is not what I have a lot of myself.

That reminds me, I spent (well, more like my dad spent! Hehe) about RM150-160 on books at Kinokuniya...here's what I bought:

1. Lord of the Flies, 50th anniversary edition [William Golding] - RM69.95
2. High Fidelity [Nick Hornby] - RM32.95 (20% off when I bought it with another book)
3. The Joy Luck Club [Amy Tan] - RM33.90 (25% off with the Kino online voucher)
4. Middlesex [Jeffrey Eugenides] - RM39.95

Ah, good stuff for holiday reading...can't wait to start! Have only wrapped in plastic books 1 & 2, the other two are still in their retail plastic. The smell of new books...*long sniff*

In actual fact, my new books are kinda 'homeless' as there's no free bookshelf space for them yet. My poor babies...

I really must get round to indexing my books. I'm not surprised if I find I've got 70-80+ books in my room...heh...

Tony Leung, Windchimes, Anyone?

Teddy music: White Christmas

OMG! Tony Leung Chiu-Wai is so friggin' hot!!! I just watched Infernal Affairs III (fantastic movie, by the way!) and every scene that Tony was in, you could collect bucketfuls of my drool...yes, people, he is that dreamy and smoulderingly goodlooking...aah, if only I could find a real-life boyfriend like that *sighs dreamily*

In any case, here's the long awaited link (by much demand from a certain someone :P ) to my recent 19th birthday celebration I had with my collegemates at Sunway Pyramid --> click here to view it.

Oh yeh, here's a pic of what my bro bought from Thailand for me - OK, after I said that he probably bought generic trinkets therefore giving him ease of mind when it came to allowing people what they wanted from among the souvenirs he bought...I chose this:

thaiwindchime.jpg

It's a seashell windchime with a coconut shell as the mainframe-thingymabob...isn't it pretty?

The old dolphin windchime hanging from the lamp got relocated to my bedroom doorknob - now I've got my very own non-electronic doorbell...hehe

Take a look at the old windchime...

dolphinwindchime.jpg

FYI, I don't believe in all that crap people say about windchimes...I think windchimes are pretty and make pretty, jingly sounds. I'd like to have one in my future dream home next time but I'd put it where it'll jingle prettily on nice, soft breezes instead of making horrible, jangly sounds being made by rough winds. Why am I so fascinated with windchimes, I don't know...could it be due to the fact that I didn't get those baby windchimes thingy put over my cot? Haha...

Well, I've unleashed my fervent desire for Tony Leung Chiu-Wai for the moment and am temporarily satiated...until the next Leung Chiu-Wai movie!! Peace y'all... =)

Making A Cake?

Teddy music: Planet Shakers - My King

Hehe...was browsing through RBJ's forums and came across this hilarious post by one its members, nina. Have fun reading it!

Tequila Holiday Cake

1 cup of water
1 tsp baking soda
1 cup of sugar
1 tsp salt
1 cup of brown sugar
Lemon juice
4 large eggs
Nuts
1 bottle tequila
2 cups of dried fruit

Sample the tequila to check quality. Take a large bowl, check the tequila again. To be sure it is of the highest quality, pour one level cup and drink. Repeat. Turn on the electric mixer. Beat one cup of butter in a large fluffy bowl. Add one teaspoon of sugar. Beat again. At this point it's best to make sure the tequila is still OK. Try another cup... just in case. Turn off the mixerer thingy.

Break 2 leggs and add to the bowl and chuck in the cup of dried fruit. Pick the frigging fruit up off floor. Mix on the turner. If the fried druit gets stuck in the beaterers just pry it loose with a drewscriver. Sample the tequila to check for tonsisticity. Next, sift two cups of salt. Or something. Check the tequila. Now shift the lemon juice and strain your nuts. Add one table. Add a spoon of sugar, or somefink. Whatever you can find. Greash the oven. Turn the cake tin 360 degrees and try not to fall over. Don't forget to beat off the turner. Finally, throw the bowl through the window. Finish the tequila and wipe counter with the cat. CHERRY MISTMAS!

Youth Hunt 2003

Teddy music: United - To The Ends Of The Earth

In response to Ee-Lin's comment, yeah, it was us, the treasure seekers in white T-shirts running all over KL, jumping on and off the LRT and Monorail. Heh. It was quite fun. Pity my team didn't win anything but hey, it's the experience that counts right?

Anyways, I'm dead tired cuz been studying for the past 10 hours to make up for not studying properly earlier. But, I think I'm pretty okay. In any case, I'm praying like mad that I'll do well...*looks up to heaven with pleading eyes*

This coming Tuesday is my first paper, Consumer Behaviour. By the way, I'd like to wish all the peeps in the SS2 cellgroup "ALL THE BEST IN YOUR EXAMS!!"

It's been a busy weekend and I was home alone cuz my family went down to Singapore to bring back my brother, Kevin since his O-Levels are over. Yay, he's back! I'm planning on taking him to the SS2 cellgroup meeting this Friday. =)

The first half of Saturday was spent at the Youth Hunt 2003. Then, that night, went for the APAYC concert on the last night. The youth concert was FANTASTIC! I've not jumped and screamed and worshipped like that for a very looong time...it was good! Plus, had a ball hanging out with my old youth from GTSD... =)

Got new trainers too since my old ones are falling apart - the soles are "speaking" to me now! Dya get it?

Alrighty then...my eyes are getting really tired now and it's nearly 1 AM. Gah...sleep!!

By the way, thanks a mill' Timmy for burning those CDs for me...finally...hehe =)

Too Small A World

Teddy music: Blue Moon

So...today I was reading The Star newspaper. Came across the Guess Watch Search model thingy and was scanning through the article. Saw the Malaysian team and started reading the names, just for the heck of it when lo, and behold! I saw a name that was rather familiar. Yeap, it was the name of my junior back in high school. Leong May Kuan. I took a look at the photo in the article of the Malaysian team and *gasp* it really looks like her. Went to surf thestar.com.my's website and *gasp again!* it is her!

Yeah, and on Rice Bowl Journals, I think I've met an acquaintence that I roomed with during the Youth Alive HUGE camp a couple years ago.

This world is entirely getting too small...I remember something someone said (can't remember who now) when they kept meeting old friends and acquaintences: "Some people say that when you keep meeting old friends, you'll die soon." *shiver*

Nah, I don't think it's my time yet...I'm sure God's got something planned for me as I feel there's still things that need to be done. =)

Oh yeah, I just "sent my name" to a comet. Came across NASA's website where you can "send" your name on a microchip to be blasted off into space on a spaceship. The current one is for Deep Impact. It's pretty cool, yea, for geeks like me. =)

Might As Well Take A Shower

Teddy music: Michael Jackson - History

Man, has anyone been really keeping up with Michael Jackson's trial lately? It's something I've not really bothered to notice much except for the few glances in the newspapers...

Speaking of that, my heart goes out to the families of the victims in the recent road tragedy involving the school bus and the other bus...terrible that such a thing could happen during the Raya month. *teddy head bowed*

To move onto lighter subjects, last night was one heckuva tropical rainstorm. I had to go over to my classmate's home to pick up some data. My dad drove 'cuz I was too friggin' tired to drive meself. Remember the fight that Neo & Agent Smith had in the rain (Matrix Revolutions)? Well, the rain last night was kinda like that...big fat droplets of water coming down hard. When I got out of the car to walk up to the gate of my classmate's home, that umbrella couldn't shield me properly enough and my legs got a nice bathing. When I got back in the car, I told my dad, "Geez, all you need is a bar of soap and some shampoo - now you can take a nice shower in the middle of the road in this storm!"

Sigh...it's been a drag today...don't like studying but must set my mind to it. Well, this Saturday is the Youth Hunt 2003...can't wait for it! Haha...wish my team luck in being one of the top 20 teams!! o.O

Hanging ICQ

Teddy music: Ann Wilson & Mike Reno - Almost Paradise

I'm currently listening to some CD called "The Best of Rock Ballads" that I won some time back in a lucky draw. Honestly, it's an album I wouldn't have paid money for but if it's free, well...heh.

Anyways, I finally got through the ardous task of cleaning up my room - sweeping, dusting, mopping, rearranging, tidying up the strewn clothes. Ahh...now it looks like some semblance of a neat & proper room. Give some time...say, about a month? It'll revert to it's "it looks like a bomb blew up in here!" state. =)

Man, was up til 4AM today doing my Consumer Behaviour assignment. Went to sleep for about 3.5 hours then got ready for morning class. It was raining cats and dogs - perfect weather for snuggling up in bed in trackpants + comfy tee! It took an hour (an hour!!) to reach college - it normally takes about 15-20 minutes. Had a nice snooze in the car though...make up for the lack of sleep this morning. Gah...my eyes!! Hehehe...

Teddy music: Daryl Braithwaite - Don't Hold Back Your Love

Omigosh, these rock ballads are freaking old...the copyright years range from 1977 to 1990. I think the most "recognised" song on this album would be "Total Eclipse of the Heart".

Sigh...me thinks I'll be going for a nice soak with some cucumber over me eyes before I start looking like a merino sheep minus its wool (a merino sheep's skin minus the wool is VERY wrinkly...get the pic?). Then, time to hit the books - HARD...exams are starting next week and end the following week...

Pray for me...I'll be needing it!!

Teddy music: Tension - One Minute

By right, I shouldn't be sitting here typing this blog entry. By right, I should be sitting here typing out my assignment. By right, I should be cleaning up my room and bathroom. By right, I should be somewhere else but here doing this.

Haih...looks like tonight I'll be up late again...no thanks to meself for sleeping right after coming home from college. Went out like a light from 3.15pm til around 7.15pm. 4 hours of sleeping. Gosh...and it didn't feel like four hours either.

What's happening to me? *looks around wondering with fear*

Geez...and exams are starting next week...wargh!!

I think, tomorrow I shall clean up my room as it is in a disgraceful mess...clothes jumbled up on the chair, books lying everywhere...dust is settling on stuff...ewww..

Infernal Affairs III

Teddy music: Jay Z ft. Beyonce - Bonnie & Clyde '03

I wanna marry Tony Leung Chiu-Wai. Hehe. In reality, it'll probably never happen but if I can find a guy who's half as enigmatic as Tony, I think I'll probably fall head over heels in love!

Why this Tony Leung business? Cuz I saw a giant poster of Infernal Affairs III at GSC Midvalley...and there was Tony in it! *drool* Stood there for a minute or two, absorbing in his smouldering good looks...*giggles*

Anyways...I'm freaking tired of this semester. It's been draggy with all the groupwork, honestly.

Teddy music: Savage Garden - To The Moon & Back

Yesterday I went for my old church's new building dedication with my dad and yougnest bro. Wow, I saw my "old youth" friends and boy, those kids have really grown up in 2 years! I can't seem to absorb how matured they look now...especially the younger ones that were only 12-13 years old when I left the church. It was fantastic meeting up with them. I must say, they're coming into their own. One of them wrote a song that was presented today during the dedication ceremony - and it was super! I would've thought it was some international youth song if they didn't say it was written by one of the GTSD youths.

Heh, apparently I changed a lot too. So many people kept commenting how different I looked, how matured I was (mentally I think I'm sort of the same...hehe), how pretty I looked (now what's that supposed to mean? Oh well...). It was pretty fun to be surrounded by tons of people I know and was close to. *grins* My youngest bro kept getting mistaken for Kev. Me thinks I'll have to drag Kev over to the youth just so they can how diff he looks from Jonathan now. Admittedly, Joanthan does look somewhat like Kev before we left the church. =)

Well, I think one day I may go back and visit their youth church for kicks. =)
